Dr. Sandra Lee Armstrong is a 1988 graduate of the University of Texas Health Science Center Dental Branch in Houston, Texas. After graduating from dental school, Dr. Armstrong attended a pediatric dental residency program at the University of Texas Health Center at Houston. She received intensive oncology training at MD Anderson Hospital, special patient training at Richmond State School, hematology and AIDS management at Gulf States Hematology Clinic and pediatric medicine and anesthesiology at Hermann Hospital.


Dr. Armstrong decided to become a pediatric dentist at the age of 15. She began working for a pediatric dentist in Odessa, Texas as summer employment during junior high and high school. Through those years, she not only obtained a rich experience and education providing for children, but she also developed a love and admiration for that population. Sharing with children and helping them overcome their fear as it relates to dentistry is one of her many talents. Dr. Armstrong has been in private practice since 1988 and has served the Grapevine/Southlake area since 1991.


Trained in the full spectrum of pediatric and adolescent dentistry, Dr. Armstrong is also an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the Southwestern Society of Pediatric Dentistry and the American Dental Association.


Dr. Armstrong is the genuine West Texas cowgirl turned pediatric dentist. With her blend of spirit and an extensive professional education, she excels in the profession of children’s dentistry. Being from the Lone Star State, she’s a natural at hospitality, valuing most the gift of relationship, which makes her a perfect choice for the young and/or anxious dental patient.


This practice of pediatric dentistry, like no other, rests in the proud city of Southlake, Texas. Dr. Armstrong hung her shingle in the Metroplex in 1991. She developed a “sports” centered practice, which couldn’t be more suiting for the child athletes and participants who homestead in Southlake. Her attention to detail is fascinating and can be witnessed by her office environment created for her by Thiel and Thiel, a local architecture/decorating firm. Being the proud Texan she is, she boasts state-of-the-art furnishings and personal acknowledgements from our own Lance Armstrong, Nolan Ryan and Roger Staubach.


It’s not, however, her office that makes Dr. Armstrong the choice of her peers as an outstanding doctor. Dr. Armstrong is consistently on the road pioneering a new and better way to provide preventive dentistry. She is tireless in acquiring the latest in dental technology to better the overall health of those for whom she cares. Dr. Amy Watts was born in Bryan, TX and grew up just south of Fort Worth. An aggie from day one, she attended Texas A&M University where she completed her undergraduate degree in three and a half years and graduated summa cum laude with a BS in Biomedical Science in December of 2001. She then continued her education by attending dental school at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. She graduated magna cum laude in May 2006, finishing 5th out of 81. Dr.Watts received many awards during her time in dental school including multiple scholarships, Dean's List, and the award for excellence in clinical dentistry. She was also inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon dental honor society in May of 2006.

Her educational journey then led her to Columbus, Ohio where she was very fortunate to work with many nationally known and very experienced faculty at The Ohio State University/Nationwide Children's Hospital. During her residency, Dr Watts received extensive training in every aspect of pediatric dentistry including taking in-house call, treating dental traumas, treating medically compromised patients, learning the art and science of oral sedation as well as treating patients under general anesthesia. She earned her Master of Science Degree in Dentistry in May of 2008 and completed her residency in June of 2008, earning her Certificate in Pediatric Dentistry.

Dr. Watts is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. To reach this Diplomate status, Dr. Watts successfully passed a comprehensive written examination as well as an oral examination of clinical cases before examiners of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Watts continually strives to learn the latest in technique and treatment modalities to stay at the forefront of evidence-based dentistry.

Dr. Watts is an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, Texas Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Greater Dallas Pediatric Dental Society and the Southwest Society of Pediatric Dentistry.

Dr. Watts resides in Trophy Club with her husband, Dane, and their son Evan. Dr. Watts loves to be outdoors (especially playing baseball with Evan or fishing as a family), loves sports, loves to travel, and loves the Aggies-Whoop!
